After exploring Kawaguchiko we decided to spontaneously check out the Shimoyoshida shrine. As we were taking the train to Kawaguchiko we noticed the shrine area while we were passing through.
Even though we were extremely tired from walking around Kawaguchiko we really wanted to reach the top of the Shimoyoshida shrine before the sunset. It was getting colder since more clouds started rolling in and it was 379 stairs to get to the top.
It was becoming extremely tiring for me each few steps but we made it to the top together! We also got lucky where the clouds started separating enough to see Mt. Fuji in the distance.
We were able to catch a nice sunset & make it back to the train station before dark.
Shimoyoshida was beautiful and worth making the stop before we headed back home. <3
